As a service technician / fitter, you will spend your time servicing, repairing or maintaining operational pump, pipe and irrigation systems, either in the workshop or infield. Meeting clients and troubleshooting issues, installing pumps, controllers and irrigation systems as well as water supply and water filtration systems. Your day could consist of conducting general site service and maintenance duties, working on submersible, borehole, solar or air-operated diaphragm and diesel pump systems, drip, sprinkler, irrigation systems, installing and laying pipe for irrigation and water supply.
Duties Service, troubleshoot, install, repair pump and irrigation systems Determine required replacement parts for repairs Assemble and conduct functional pump and irrigation flow and pressure tests Liaise with clients about existing or future work opportunities Work across the industrial, commercial, and agricultural pump sectors Skills Be trade qualified in either mechanical fitting or plumbing Possess practical experience with pump, irrigation and water-related supply systems Be able to understand basic schematics and mechanical designs Have sound verbal and written communication skills A restricted electrical license would be a benefit, but is not essential Culture of the branch
