The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a Technician - Engineering Production who will be responsible for developing and implementing PDI assembly standardisation programs to attain lead time/cost reduction and cycle time improvements.
This role will implement process improvements to Mining, Construction & Utility assemblies to ensure the business meets the current and future demand forecast plans on-time and oncost, reducing cost, lead time (and work time) and gain improvements in new equipment efficiencies in line with manufacturing improvement strategies.

The Technician – Engineering Production will develop Quality improvement & process management programs to measure, monitor and improve quality and assembly processes within the PDI Assembly group and support the workshop with engineering related issues by investigating root cause, identifying countermeasure and implementing total corrective action.

Key Accountabilities: Liaise between Design team and production team to provide design solutions for new machine or local design modifications Provide technical support to production teams by investigating design and process failures and providing interim solutions and coordinating corrective action plan to eliminate root cause.
Support and lead the development of Standard Work Procedures Manage the engineering data systems (QMS, SWP Library, WO Reports) and ensure data integrity and validity through unwavering discretion Maintain production internal and external layouts to ensure layout is optimised to meet demand volume Identify opportunities for process improvement through process/tool/jig design, and manage the implementation of tooling and processes from design to workshop training and handover Provide detail reports on engineering SLAs on regular basis to monitor and control regional engineering performance.
Implement process changes in conjunction with KAL Operations departments to improve the cycle time of equipment from date of delivery to branch to customer handover.
Working with the Komatsu Australia Technical and Safety Departments to ensure that all processes conform to and are acceptable to all Workplace Health and Safety, Komatsu Australia Technical Support and OEM regulations.
Create Quality tickets in Komatsu's Quality Management System (QMS) to record and address quality issues discovered during the assembly of the new equipment.
Create and Submit PDI CAPEX requests.

Ability to work and deliver multiple tasks, in adverse conditions, under ambitious deadlines.
Proficient in the use of Quality tools and techniques.
Ability to lead and influence team member from cross functional teams Strong team values Intrinsically motivated with ability to find and use resources to improve current processes Experience and / or knowledge of production control systems.
