Dugald River mine is one of the world's top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017. The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023, the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine's power and reducing emissions by 33%—this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.
Dugald River employs around 800 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. The village provides all the amenities including a gym, with a women's only area, a tennis court, swimming pool, walking track, and entertainment area.
Electrical and Instrumentation Technician We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Dugald River Mine. This role reports to the Supervisor – Maintenance Electrical, providing maintenance support to the Dugald River Mine operations.
This role is based on an 8/6 day shift (night shift as required). Drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa, or FIFO from Townsville.
Qualifications & Competencies: Dual trade certification in Electrical and Instrumentation along with at least 3-5 years of trade experience.Strong work ethic, safety values, and an extensive maintenance background including underground capability to perform all repairs within scope, installation, servicing, overhauls, and commissioning in a hard rock underground mining environment.Solid experience in HV switchgear and RMUs, motor controls, variable speed AC drives, Schneider PLCs, pneumatic and electronic process control instrumentation.Literacy in a computerised maintenance management system such as SAP will be highly regarded.Some of the key responsibilities will include: Ensuring statutory compliance in maintaining fixed Electrical and Instrumentation infrastructure while providing a safe working culture.The reliability and safe operation of assets are integral to this position, as daily and weekly targets are measured against production targets as critical KPIs.You will also be called upon to perform the same tasks in the mineral processing fixed plant maintenance operations environment as required.Experience in fault finding and fixed plant maintenance for a heavy industrial and process environment is important to the role.What we offer: Remuneration for this role includes a competitive salary package, annual bonus, and generous local allowances for employees living in the local community of Cloncurry and Mt Isa.
