Position Accountabilities What You'll Be Doing:
The Technical Underwriting Manager Motor is responsible for:
The identification, design, development and implementation of new and innovative Domestic Motor Underwriting Guidelines, both Core and Discretionary, aimed at improving overall risk selection.Ongoing review and enhancement of existing Domestic Motor Underwriting Guidelines aimed at optimising business outcomes and customer experience.Design and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the Motor Underwriting system and processes, including ongoing referral automation, to ensure they remain fit for purpose and keep pace with a growing and increasingly complex Domestic Motor portfolio.Providing coaching and support to Production Underwriters, including escalations.Providing subject matter expertise to stakeholders across both the Product division and the broader business on complex technical content, including systems and processes that deal with Underwriting Guidelines, risk acceptability and/or referrals.User Acceptance testing of Underwriting related system changes.Regular market and competitor analysis.Management of a team of Technical Motor Underwriters / subject matter experts (SMEs).Qualifications and Experience What You'll Bring to the Table:
10+ years of General Insurance underwriting, product design, product/portfolio management and/or claim experience; Retail Motor (Car) Insurance specific experience will be highly regarded.Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, e.g.
business administration, economics, commerce, law, finance, etc.
and/or professional qualification (e.g.
