Our Lihir operation in the Processing Plant Department is now recruiting for the position of Technical Trainer - Processing for FIFO role based at our Lihir Gold Operation (LGO).
Reporting to the Coordinator – Training, this role will primarily train, coach, mentor and assess personnel in all aspects of mineral processing and fixed equipment operations within the Process Plant Operations teams.
The role will have responsibility to: Drive and influence proactive safety behaviours within workgroups through visible leadership.Promote safe working cultures when delivering training.Assist in continuous improvement of HSE practices.Deliver theory and 'on the job' training for all operators in various sections within the Process Plant operations as per training plans and progression flow paths.Continually coach and mentor.Foster training for Area Supervisors based on succession plans to develop them to a Shift Supervisor standard.Update TNA with plant area Shift Supervisor to target priorities.Maintain constant communication between Operations & Training, to ensure competency criteria for personnel are valid.Have input into continuous improvement for training programs and resources to ensure currency.Actively seek cost reduction opportunities.Ideally, our preferred applicant will have: TRA20B Certificate 2 in Training and Assessment.Certificate IV Workplace Training & Assessment (Desirable).Minimum of 5 years' experience in a complex hydrometallurgical processing plant.Previous experience in training and supervisory roles.Sound knowledge of relevant RII Resource Mining Australian Competency Units.Well-developed computer skills – proficient in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint.Good interpersonal, oral and written communications skills in English.The Requirements Must be available for FIFO to Lihir.Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.Our Commitment to You Newmont is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
