Exciting opportunity for Technical Surveyor & Surveyor Assistant to join government agency on a 12-month contract.Position: Technical SurveyorLocation: Queanbeyan/Bathurst (travel involved)Contract: 12 months (05.07.2024 - 04.07.2025)Pay Rate: $50.00 per hour + SuperannuationHours: 7 hours per day / 35 hours per weekKey Responsibilities:Conduct precise measurements and surveys using advanced surveying equipment and software, including Lecia equipment.Analyze survey data to prepare accurate reports, maps, and charts using 12d Software.Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure survey specifications are met.Provide technical expertise in land development, construction projects, and infrastructure assessments.Maintain and update survey records, drawings, and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.Monitor and verify quality control of survey work to ensure accuracy and reliability.Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during fieldwork and data collection.Required Skills and Qualifications:Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.Proven experience in technical surveying, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.Proficiency with surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.Experience with Lecia surveying equipment is highly desirable.Familiarity with 12d Software for data analysis and reporting.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Current driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as requiredJob Description: Surveyor AssistantPosition: Surveyor AssistantLocation: Queanbeyan/Bathurst (travel involved)Contract: 12 months (05.07.2024 - 04.07.2025)Pay Rate: $42.00 per hour + SuperannuationHours: 7 hours per day / 35 hours per weekKey Responsibilities:Assist technical surveyors in conducting measurements and surveys.Set up and operate surveying equipment under the direction of senior staff.Assist in data collection, recording, and processing of survey information.Perform basic calculations and prepare simple reports and sketches.Maintain and organize survey equipment and tools.Follow safety protocols and guidelines during fieldwork activities.Support survey team with various tasks as needed.Required Skills and Qualifications:Certificate or diploma in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous.Familiarity with surveying instruments and equipment.Basic understanding of surveying principles and techniques.Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates strongly encouraged to apply.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Applications received after the due date may be considered for similar roles."Indigeco Acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and Recognise our Brothers & Sisters Connection to Land, Waters and Community.
