You are responsible for providing hands-on support in woodwork, textiles, engineering, and electronics classes.
This includes advising and assisting teachers and students with the use of tools, integrating technology such as 3D printing and CAD design into lessons, and preparing materials for classroom activities.
Additionally, you are tasked with maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of equipment, ensuring machinery and tools are functional and safe for educational use.
The role involves coordinating repairs, maintaining PPE, overseeing the storage of tools and consumables, and working closely with IT on software updates.

You focus on safety compliance and training, conducting workshops to teach staff and students the proper use of equipment, enforcing safety protocols, and conducting regular safety checks and Occupational Health and Safety audits.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications: A relevant post-secondary qualification or extensive experience in a relevant field (e.g., woodworking, engineering technology, electronics, textiles).
Hands-on experience with woodworking tools, electronics, 3D printing, and CAD design.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and adapt to the dynamic nature of technology-driven classes.
Well-developed administrative skills, including proficient use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and the ability to manage information accurately and efficiently.
Strong time management and organisation skills with the ability to work well under pressure, prioritise tasks and be able to respond to change.
The ability to work as a member of a team as well as work autonomously, when required.
The ability to develop an understanding of student wellbeing, child safety and of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children, including children with diverse needs and backgrounds (mandatory child safety training is provided).
Knowledge and experience working within a school environment (desirable but not essential).
