About the role:
We are currently seeking a Technical Services Manager at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV) Mine. Our CMJV mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverized coal (LV-PCI) for export markets, with an extension of an additional pit at Moorvale South, adding to our coal production.
Reporting into the Executive General Manager, you will lead a technical team and oversee geotechnical and environmental compliance, mine surveying, geology and the associated modelling and all LOM planning and reporting with the function.
Duties will include: Provide and sustain a safe working environment for all team membersEnsure compliance with the site SHMSProvide a complete, timely and accurate suite of Technical Services to the Joint VentureEngage regularly with all internal stakeholders to ensure the success of the JVProvide strong leadership and direction to the Technical Services TeamSupport and participate in the annual Budget processMaintain all production and processing statisticsEngage with the Marketing team on product requirements and deliverySetting clear goals and expectations for the team and individuals thereinHold team and team members to account for deliveryRecognise and celebrate good performanceThe lifestyle:
This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Employees living residentially may have access to a housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.
About you: The successful candidate will have the following:
At least 10 years' combined experience in mining technical services, production and supervisory roles in the coal mining industry.Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.Strengths in short, medium and long-term mine planning, safety standards and budgeting processes.Thorough knowledge of Coal Mining legislation and statutory obligations.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and strong stakeholder engagement.Working knowledge of SAP and mining engineering systems such as Deswik, Spry and Vulcan is essential.About Peabody: Peabody is a leading coal producer, providing essential products for the production of affordable, reliable energy & steel.
