Technical Services Manager

We are seeking a Technical Service Manager to be based in Canberra. The role is critical to the maintenance and repairs, improvements, and management of communications, surveillance, and RADAR systems for defence aerospace platforms.
The successful applicant will work within a dynamic team and an industry leader in the Defence Sector. This is a key role within the team that will encompass a wide range of responsibilities. You will be involved in the management of spares and repairable items and manage a team of specialists to conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs.
The Role: Investigate, resolve, diagnose, and document parts (defect reports, incident reports, etc.) Exercise Technical Authority and Logistics authority to the level of delegation Undertake Technical inspections of repairable items and new items Undertake quality assurance of parts Assist warehouse, logistics, and inventory management Deliver repair and maintenance support to mission-critical & controlled items Perform and manage workshop planning, coordination, and operations Ensure QA standards AS/NZS9001, 9001, and 14001 are adhered to Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in resolution of technical issues Requirements: Technical qualifications in Electronics or Electrical Excellent working knowledge of technical and engineering standards Highly experienced in the technical inspection of parts Traceable Leadership in a busy workshop facility Experienced in making improvements to processes and procedures Experience in the setting up and application of testing equipment Knowledge of either Six Sigma, LEAN, or 5S continuous Improvement methods Applicants MUST be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship) This role is a critical position within the organisation that requires a mature self-starter to manage a team of specialists to conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs.
