Technical Sales Manager – South Australia (80%) and Western Australia (20%)Skip to contentAdd expected salary to your profile for insightsOur client is a specialist surface engineering company that focuses on the development and application of materials, technologies and methodologies to increase operating performance and wear life of capital-intensive machinery components.This technology has applications across many industries where surface engineering can deliver significant cost-effective improvements in productivity and/or lower total cost of equipment ownership.
They include resources and energy, agriculture, fluid handling, steel and aluminium production, heavy transport, advanced manufacturing, defence and infrastructure construction.Their customers are typically internationally recognised Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and large end users in capital-intensive heavy industries that endure high costs whenever their equipment is out of production for maintenance.This organisation currently operates from facilities in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, and Victoria and licenses its technology to international partners.As the Technical Sales Manager you are primarily responsible for ensuring consistent, profitable Sales Revenue growth by identifying objectives, strategies and action plans to improve sales and gross margin contributions from your designated, regional, client base.Finding someone with some machining experience or sales in mining and heavy industry would be ideal.
They are heavily mining dependent in this state but the drive is to open other key industry customers in wind energy, water authorities, pump companies, bottling and canning, marine and agriculture.The technical ramp up is steep in this role and those who understand the industry around machine shops and re-manufacture would have a big head start.A heavy industrial background focused on technical products and solutions and not commodity products is a must.For the right candidate who aspires to grow we are hoping to find a team member that can be mentored into a future leadership role.
Having the drive, temperament and willingness to learn how to lead, understand the business, develop strategic plans and read the economic lead and lag factors along the way.Lastly.
