Job Type: Full timeLocation: Port Kembla (based) with travelWe are a leading supplier of specialised vehicle bodies, fire pumps, aerial appliances (sales, service and spare parts) and other specialised equipment in the emergency service and industrial sectors. We are committed to delivering high-quality, reliable products that ensure the safety and effectiveness of operations. As we expand, we are creating a new position within our team for a Technical Sales person to help us grow our business and build lasting relationships with our clients.Role Overview:This is a dynamic, hands-on position where you will use your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to promote and sell our products, while also providing on-the-ground support for our clients. You will actively engage with customers, conduct site visits, and ensure that the solutions we provide meet their specific needs. The ideal candidate will have a trade background—such as in mechanical, electrical, or engineering fields—and hands-on experience with pumps or specialised vehicle body building industries. If you enjoy working directly with customers, troubleshooting on-site, and offering practical solutions, this role is for you.Key Responsibilities:Sales Development: Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities for fire pumps, specialised vehicle bodies, aerial appliance service and spare part support along with other emergency services equipment.Client Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with both new and existing clients (government and private).Consultative Selling: Provide technical consultations to clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.Product Presentations: Conduct detailed product demonstrations, technical presentations, and consultations to effectively communicate the benefits and technical specifications of our products and services.Service & Parts Sales: Promote and sell maintenance contracts, service agreements, and spare parts. Provide support for any troubleshooting or repairs required in the field.Travel and Client Meetings: National and international travel required to meet with customers, partners, conduct site visits, and provide on-the-ground support.Collaboration: Work closely with our engineering, technical, production and administration teams to ensure smooth project execution, timely deliveries, and customer satisfaction.Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes in the emergency services and industrial sectors to provide informed advice to clients.New Role Development: As the first person in this newly created role, you will have the opportunity to influence strategy, create processes, and lay the groundwork for the growth of the position and the company's presence in this market.Qualifications and Skills:Trade background in engineering, mechanical, electrical, or related technical field (preferred).Previous experience in technical sales, business development, or a similar customer-facing role, ideally within the fire protection, emergency services, or industrial sectors.Strong technical understanding of fire pumps, aerial appliances (such as Bronto Skylifts), and other emergency services equipment (preferred).Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications and provide expert guidance to clients.Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Proven ability to build strong client relationships, manage sales pipelines, and meet sales targets.Self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks effectively.Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first attitude.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.Why Work With Us?Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.Hands-On Role: A chance to engage directly with customers, solve real-world problems, and make a tangible impact on the company's growth.A collaborative and supportive work environment focused on innovation and success.A diverse range of clients and hands-on projects across the emergency services and industrial sectors, ensuring no two days are the same.If you're a proactive, customer-focused individual with a solid technical background in pumps or a related industry, we encourage you to apply.
