Electrical Engineer Level II Role Responsibilities : Deliver detailed electrical designs, including specifications for switchgear, MCCs, LV switchboards, UPS systems, emergency generators, and interfacing electrical systems. Perform electrical calculations to support designs. Prepare design documentation such as SLDs, schematics, termination diagrams, and general arrangements.
Develop ITPs, MTOs, datasheets, specifications, methodologies, and procurement and construction scopes of work. Conduct power systems modeling and analysis for HV / LV systems, including protection coordination and arc flash analysis. Review vendor documentation and ensure compatibility with existing brownfield infrastructure.
Coordinate requisitioning activities in line with client processes and engage with vendors and construction contractors. Contribute to design reviews, HAZIDs / HAZOPs, and safety-in-design workshops. Collaborate with peers, senior engineers, multidisciplinary teams, and Workshare teams to deliver high-quality engineering designs.
Support project documentation development, including budgets, estimates, forecasts, schedules, and reports. Maintain effective communication with team leads, peers, and Workshare teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Interpret and apply relevant technical standards. Conduct self-checks for all deliverables and adhere to internal review processes.
Ensure alignment and clarity of interfaces across design packages and disciplines.
What You'll Bring : A 4-year Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, recognised in Australia. Significant consultancy experience as a professional engineer, with substantial oil and gas refinery (or related industry) expertise. Chevron experience preferred. Proficiency in detailed electrical design and project execution, with a solid understanding of project phases and deliverables. Hazardous Area Accreditation (highly desirable).
Key Skills & Experience : Strong knowledge of: Brownfield interfacing. Electrical calculations and equipment sizing. HV / LV systems, arc flash analysis, and mitigation. System studies, protection coordination, and design of protection systems. Switchgear, generation, and power distribution. Earthing systems and step / touch potential calculations. AC / DC system design. Construction and commissioning processes. Expertise in preparing specifications, procurement / tender documents, execution scopes of work, and work packs. Experience supporting electrical estimates and schedules. Familiarity with equipment inspections, ITPs / ITRs, and FATs / SATs. Desirable Attributes : Site experience in construction, testing, commissioning, and shutdown planning. Familiarity with construction methodologies and control system interfacing. Strong self-management, goal-setting, time management, and prioritization skills. Excellent analytical and report-writing skills with structured, concise communication. Proficient verbal and written communication for both individual and group interactions. Knowledge of and adherence to change management processes.
