About the RoleThe ARC Hub for Digital Bioprocess Development is part of the Industrial Transformation Research Hub grant scheme (ITRH Scheme) and aims to assist the Biopharma industry by increasing digital innovation, productivity and competitiveness.The Hub will engage an interdisciplinary team of engineers, scientists and computing specialists to develop digitally integrated advanced manufacturing processes and a platform for industry adoption.The program will address key bioprocessing research challenges and develop new process and digital models that can predict and optimise manufacturing processes, resulting in greater yields, faster and more flexible processes and enhanced product stability.The Hub will transform biopharmaceutical manufacturing and unlock growth opportunities to forge an internationally competitive Australian Biopharma sector.The Technical Research Support (Digital) will be employed to undertake the significant amount of routine computer coding and development that will be required over the course of the DBD Hub activities within the digital research stream.This will include the preparation of data, the development of workflows in Domino and development of software prototypes.The Technical Research Support role will provide support to postdoctoral and PhD students within the DBD Hub and will be members of the team, assisting researchers with the preparation and more routine aspects of data analysis.Responsibilities include: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments conducted, assist in the preparation of data for analysis and be able to effectively communicate outcomes to project staff as required.Participate in preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.Liaise effectively with internal and external collaborators and stakeholders.About YouYou will have evidence of Technical Research Support and are able to demonstrate strong coding and software skills.You will show excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders (academic, administrative and support staff) in a courteous and effective manner.You will have experience and ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing priorities to achieve project objectives within timelines.You will also have: Completion of a tertiary level qualification with relevant work-related experience and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/ training.Specifically: Technical Research Support - computer science, data science or software engineering.Excellent record keeping skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated by presentation of research results at conferences, internal forums and manuscript submissions.To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.Please note: To be considered for this role you must have current valid work rights for Australia.About the UniversityThe University of Melbourne is consistently ranked amongst the leading universities in the world.We are proud of our people, our commitment to research and teaching excellence, and our global engagement.Benefits of Working with UsIn addition to having the opportunity to grow and be challenged, and to be part of a vibrant campus life, our people enjoy a range of rewarding benefits: Flexible working arrangements, generous personal, parental and cultural leaveCompetitive remuneration, 17% super, salary packaging and leave loadingFree and subsidised health and wellbeing services, and access to fitness and cultural clubsDiscounts on a wide range of products and services including Myki cards and Qantas ClubCareer development opportunities and 25% off graduate courses for staff and their immediate families
