About the role: We are looking for a Technical Solutions Engineer to provide thought leadership, planning, management, and technical design development for our customers and support their migration to/growth within CDC's Data Centre Facilities. The incumbent will be a Data Centre Engineering SME and will be deployed across the business in technical discovery, customer response preparation and major change consultation.
Key responsibilities include: Work with internal teams to respond to requests from customers and to respond in bid scenarios.Liaise directly with customer technical teams in support of the Head of Engineering Innovation.Assist with hyperscale pre-sales opportunities as required.Provide advice and support to stakeholders and cross-functional teams throughout the sales lifecycle.Prepare data centre engineering briefing information to ensure alignment between key customer and/or CDC Business requirements and project deliverables.Collaborate with the CDC Engineering Delivery Design team to customise and configure design to meet customer specific needs.Participate in the data centre engineering Concept Design phase to ensure alignment between key customer requirements and project deliverables.Manage the development of key customer sales collateral.Gather and relay customer feedback to appropriate parties.Articulate, capture and escalate risk to the Head of Engineering Innovation.Contribute to CDC Engineering strategy regarding innovation and Data Centre Engineering best practice.Continually seek out opportunities for innovation for both CDC and its customers.Grow internal networks and provide opportunities to share knowledge and improve performance.Development and management of relationships alongside our Sales teams to identify, coordinate, and win business.Act in an ambassadorial capacity for the company.Attend and contribute to appropriate team and stakeholder meetings and committees as required and relevant to ensure excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.Function as part of a team that occasionally requires work to be completed outside of normal business hours.Embrace and model CDC's DNA and Leadership Fundamentals and mentor and impart knowledge to junior staff.Provide cultural and operational team leadership.Other duties as directed from time to time.About you: 5+ years' relevant experience in Data Centre Engineering Design with a degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years total engineering experience.Technical solutions experience in Data Centre engineering or critical infrastructure environments.Strong experience in designing and implementing hyperscale data centre engineering developments and customer deployment solutions.Experience in optimizing and evaluating data centre engineering design for time and cost efficiency.Strong understanding of Data Centre Engineering principles and industry standard design architectures.Demonstrable track record in pre-sales or post sales.Essential: Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA Security Clearance at Negative Vetting 1 level.
