Time Fraction: Part Time, 0.6 EFT.
Location: Chadstone's Drummond Street campus – onsite parking.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an 'employee' Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing position with a 6-month qualifying period.
About the Role Holmesglen is playing a pivotal role in the provision of training services and programs aligned to major infrastructure projects across Melbourne, including the Metro tunnelling project.
The Centre for Energy and Infrastructure at Holmesglen are seeking a highly motivated Technical Officer – VR/AR & Simulators to support the operation, maintenance, and integration of advanced virtual/mixed reality and simulator technologies for training in tunnelling and civil construction.
You will play a critical role in maintaining equipment, providing technical support, and collaborating with industry partners to enhance education through digital technologies.
Key Responsibilities: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot VR/AR and simulator equipment.Identify and resolve issues related to software applications, networking infrastructure, hardware, and operating systems.Provide advice to industry partners on suitable technologies and design principles for VR/AR resources.Support the integration of VR/AR applications and digital tools for educational assessments.Work closely with trainers to ensure effective use and maintenance of equipment.Communicate with vendors and external specialists for system maintenance and development.Assist in setting up exhibitions, industry programs, and promotional events.Maintain equipment hygiene, supplies, and a user logbook for equipment.ABOUT YOU Experience in a technical support role with the ability to perform routine maintenance.Proven organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
