You will have experience in planning and/or design of integrated transport networks and facilities, including walking, cycling and public transport. Further but not limited to, you will have high-level knowledge of traffic assessment techniques and construction processes and Quality Assurance procedures and requirements.The position's focus will be:Provide transport and traffic engineering advice on civil engineering design plans prepared internally or by external civil engineering consultants.Contribute to the planning, prioritising and coordination of transport and traffic design projects and tasks within defined budgets and timeframes.Contribute to the development of Council's transport strategies and action plans for future budgets.Conduct in-house traffic modelling of intersections, run traffic scenarios, and determine appropriate treatments for predicted increased growth and/or changed traffic conditions.Research, investigate and assemble traffic count and traffic engineering information, including pedestrians, cyclists, mobility scooter and motorbike riders, public transport users, parking management, heavy transport, local access and other aspects of general transport management.Undertake community consultation/engagement relating to the formulation and implementation of transport design projects and advocate for improved transport design outcomes through active community involvement.Compile reports for Council's Traffic Advisory Committee and Speed Management Committee, on traffic crashes after analysing data from the Department of Transport and Main Roads, after undertaking road safety audits of design and construction works, as requested, and for Government assistance programs, such as Black Spot, TIDS, SafeST, PTAIP, and Cycle Networks Program (CNP).Liaise with Government Departments, Council teams and customers with regard to the co-ordination of transport projects and negotiate positive and successful outcomes.Assess Material Change of Use and Lot Reconfiguration development applications by providing transport and traffic engineering advice.Provide professional guidance on transport planning and traffic management issues to Councillors, members of staff and the general public.Develop and investigate traditional and innovative transportation planning initiatives.Such other relevant duties as required from time to time which would generally fall within the scope of this position.Further QuestionsPlease contact Stephanie Ballon, Sustainable Transport Coordinator on (07) 5329 6*** for any further information regarding the position.Click Apply to be directed to Noosa Council's recruitment platform where you will be able to view additional details about the role including a position description.
