The program provides policy, strategic, and technical advice on fauna, flora, ecological community and wetland conservation, and manages projects for the promotion of conservation on land not managed by the department.We are seeking to establish a pool of suitable candidates for the role of Technical Officer.
Working with supervision, you will maintain databases of threatened species and/or ecological communities.
You will also undertake technical and administrative tasks including data curation, entry, and distribution.At DBCA, we have adopted Leadership Expectations which provides a common understanding of the mindsets and expected behaviours required of all our employees and the public sector.
In this role, you will demonstrate Personal Leadership to help drive positive change.Selection CriteriaApplicants should address the following four (4) criteria.
These should be addressed in no more than two (2) pages in total:Knowledge of conservation biology principles for flora, fauna, or ecological communities.Demonstrated technical ability with databases and information technology.Excellent literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to interpret spatial and tabular data correctly (e.g.
