Overview:
Full-time, Continuing position Salary Level HEW 5 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Bundoora campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University About the Role This newly created Technical Officer position will report to the Technical Coordinator and will play a key role in providing technical service and expertise to support the activities and users of the designated laboratories and workspaces.
In this role, the Technical Officer will be responsible for maintaining and demonstrating the operation of laboratory equipment and instruments, as well as providing essential technical support to both staff and students. Working closely with the Technical Coordinator, the incumbent will be instrumental in ensuring timely maintenance of the laboratories and supporting the adoption and implementation of OHS standards, all while delivering a client-centric, professional service.
To be successful in this position, you'll have: Demonstrated experience working within a Clinical Environment or a Nursing Simulated Health laboratory.
Demonstrated knowledge/experience in the routine operation, maintenance, and training of various forms of equipment or instruments related to Clinical Nursing Environments; experience in Nursing Simulated Health resources would be an advantage.
Proven track record of building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, including understanding and embracing a client-focused framework.
Demonstrated understanding of current OH&S legislation with knowledge of other field or industry regulations or standards related to the field within the scope of the service area.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with a diverse range of people from various backgrounds.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of working in accordance to the RMIT value statements or similar frameworks in other organisations.

Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Nursing or a related discipline and/or relevant experience. Current registration is not required.
