We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Technical Officer - Mechanical to join our Operations and Maintenance team in Leinster Western Australia on a Permanent full time basis. Reporting to the Team Leader you will play a key role in supporting our Operations and Maintenance teams across APA. This role forms an important part of the operations team. Key Responsibilities Monitoring and maintaining plant and systems for safe, steady state and reliable operations. Carrying out routine, planned major and unplanned maintenance tasks as directed, and repair/maintain equipment up to level of skill and qualification. Investigating, researching, troubleshooting, and recommending solutions to operational problems with the aim of returning plant to service as soon as possible (where it has shutdown unexpectedly). Developing and authorising work permits associated with all maintenance and operations. Planning and execution of major and minor plant shutdown activities Implementing and clearing isolations associated with all maintenance and operations. Developing standard operating procedures and maintenance procedures as directed Acting as permit holder for work conducted on site. This includes, at times, being responsible for the work performed by contractors and other service providers. Monitoring spares and consumable levels and take action to correct. Participating in, and occasionally managing, station projects. Responding to after hour call outs as on a rostered basis. Your background Mechanic trade, LV or heavy diesel, with experience in oil & gas, mining, utilities or heavy industry. Significant Operator/Maintainer experience on gas assets. Experience working on natural gas engines an advantage. Power generation experience an advantage. Valid WA driver's license. Able to travel and work in remote locations for extended periods. Able to competently use relevant computer applications to analyse data and records. Good interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels of the organisation. Strong commitment to Safety and Safety Management systems. About the Team The APA operational team in WA services onshore energy assets. The team comprises of a mix of residential and FIFO technicians who work across a geographically wide area from Kalgoorlie in the south to Port Hedland in the North and Telfer to Gruyere in the East This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Australia's energy transition and play a key role in supporting WA's critical energy infrastructure.
