We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Technical Officer to join the team, who will be responsible for our Approved Supplier Program, ensuring food safety, compliance, quality, legality, authenticity, and production & supply requirements are being met.
Description: Responsibilities will include: Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will actively participate and cooperate in ensuring the highest standards of customer relations.Manage approval of suppliers and maintain the database checking for compliance as per the Approved Supplier Program.Ensure all technical documents and records are maintained, including supplier certifications.Maintain the heatmap of risk countries by ensuring it is sourced, current, and complete in compliance with our requirements.Generate and maintain updates of product specifications that are issued by the supplier or as per Sunbeam requirements to be signed by the supplier prior to supply.Ensure 3PL and third-party producers are approved and audited in compliance with our requirements.Ensure DAFF import requirements, Failing Food Notices, and Imported Food Notices are communicated and complied with by suppliers and Sunbeam import requirements.Ensure DAFF Biosecurity for Imported and Exported Food Quarantine requirements are met.Liaise with procurement and industrial sales to ensure procurement controls are in place.Keep abreast of Industry, International, Government, and Food Standards regulations including FSANZ for importing & supply of goods, in order that products comply and management is kept up to date with emerging technologies, changes to regulations, and codes of practice relevant to the food industry.Skills and Experience: Minimum Degree in Applied Science, Food Science, Food Technology, Science, or related discipline.Strong understanding of HACCP, Food Safety Management Systems (BRC, HACCP, and GMP), DAFF Conditions of Registration.Experience in a FMCG environment, in QA or Technical roles preferable.Auditing training & experience as a Food Safety, HACCP, or Internal Auditor is required.Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills.Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.Effective communicator at all levels in the organisation.Attention to detail - Accurate data entry skills.Team player - you love working collaboratively and cross-functionally.Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.The Benefits: Superb company culture.Supportive management.Competitive remuneration.Ongoing training and professional development.Parental Leave Policy.Service Recognition Program.Employee Assistance Program (EAP). #J-18808-Ljbffr
