ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY As a Technical Officer within Secure Communications, you will work in a small team that builds, deploys, maintains and carries out fault repairs on the Ministerial Communications Network (MCN) and National Tele Presence System (NTS) client devices.
You will be responsible for assisting the team with installing and maintaining Routers and Switches, Tele Presence Devices and maintaining the integrity of the MCN secure network, this includes trouble-shooting and problem resolution.
Additionally, you will be required to assist the logistics manager with day-to-day management of the stores room to ensure quality end-to-end asset management.
Secure Communications services are located all over Australia in capital cities and regional locations.
As the APS3 Technical Officer you maybe required to travel domestically to assist with installing and maintaining the MCN and NTS equipment, as well as represent the Department to other Government organisations.
In addition to day-to-day operations, you will also assist the projects team with the deployment of new services and capabilities.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold the required security clearance level for the role as indicated in the downloadable job pack.
All Finance staff are required to have a minimum baseline security clearance prior to commencement.
