)+ Superannuation & Salary Sacrifice BenefitsVarious Locations SAMultiple Full Time, Part Time Permanent/Contracted Roles available About the role(s)Technical Officer - Virology/Serology/Molecular DiagnosticsThe position is classified at the TGO-2 level by virtue of the overall level of job demand and responsibility and particularly contains the requirements to participate in the technical operation of the Virology / Serology and Molecular Diagnostic Department.The technician will apply technical knowledge, expertise and competence to perform a range of routine diagnostic techniques, including participation in problem definition, planning, execution, analysis and reporting.
With supervision, they will contribute to the development, selection and adoption of new techniques and methodologies.
They will assist in the training and supervision of technical laboratory staff in routine tests and tasks.
As required, they will contribute to the Department's teaching and research activities.The incumbent is required to perform standard diagnostic tests across multiple scientific/technical method domains in the Virology Laboratory.The following objectives for a Technical Officer at the classification level of TGO2 are as follows: Activities at this level may be undertaken on an individual basis, or as the leader of a project team on minor technical projects and will include a requirement to exercise knowledge and involve the application of technical judgement in support of research, operational and/or project programs.Perform duties which demand expertise, experience and technical skills to undertake supervisory responsibilities within the team.Provide reports and recommendations of technical suitability of equipment, procedures, processes and results.
Technical Officer - Food & Environmental Laboratory The position is classified at the TGO-2 level by virtue of the overall level of job demand and responsibility and particularly contains the requirements to participate in the technical operation of the Food and Environmental Laboratory.
The incumbent will apply technical knowledge/expertise and be competent in performing standard and more complex tests/duties across multiple technical methods and domains in the Food and Environmental Laboratory.
They will prioritise test/duties to ensure timely delivery of results to clients, perform tests that are the technically more complex and as directed supervise and train other less experienced technical and scientific staff.The following objectives for a Technical Officer at the classification level of TGO2 are as follows: Activities at this level may be undertaken on an individual basis, or as the leader of a project team on minor technical projects and will include a requirement to exercise knowledge and involve the application of technical judgement in support of research, operational and/or project programs.Perform duties which demand expertise, experience and technical skills to undertake supervisory responsibilities within the team.Provide reports and recommendations of technical suitability of equipment, procedures, processes and results.
Technical Officer - BacteriologyThe following objectives for a Technical Officer at the classification level of TGO2 are as follows: Activities at this level may be undertaken on an individual basis, or as the leader of a project team on minor technical projects and will include a requirement to exercise knowledge and involve the application of technical judgement in support of research, operational and/or project programs.Participate in the technical operation of the Bacteriology Department to provide a 24 hours service.Perform duties which demand technical knowledge, expertise, experience and skills.Prioritise tests/duties to ensure timely delivery of results to clients, perform tests that are technically more complex, verify and authorise technical results from analytical tests across multiple technical methods and domains in the Bacteriology Department, as directed, supervise and train other less experienced technical and scientific staff and provide telephone advice to clients on technical and specimen related problems.Provide reports and recommendations of technical suitability of equipment, procedures, processes and results.
