Using advanced analytics, knowledge built through years of practical expertise, partnerships with leading researchers, and the courage to experiment, our people are proud to be disruptive influencers amongst the electricity industry.About the Role:We currently have a new permanent opportunity for an experienced Technical Officer to join our Geographic Information Services (GIS) team, based at our Market Street CBD head office.Reporting to the Team Lead GIS & Closeout, this position is responsible for the overall provision of GIS, minor drafting and survey services as part of our overhead and underground design distribution projects. This role also includes providing GIS information and asset recording information to internal and external Powercor Network Services clients on an as-needed basis in a timely and accurate manner.About you:You will have a background in the electrical industry and be familiar with working with distributors and their network assets. In addition, you will have experience working with Engineering Technical Standards, VESI Design, and Australian Standards. Finally, you will have a strong continuous improvement mindset, with experience in identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.What you will deliver:Co-ordinate the input and update of data within GIS and associated databases in accordance with customer requirements and agreed timeframes.Assist in the development of agreed GIS documentation and asset recording standards for electrical network system projects in a timely manner.Prepare or update plans of projects and maintain system records in accordance with appropriate standards and customer requirements.Undertake minor surveying activities to agreed timeframes and in accordance with the relevant technical manuals, OH&S Act, Safety in Design guidelines, and customer requirements.Provide project management support including monitoring, reviewing, and reconciling time, costs, and quality of distribution network projects.Pro-actively pursue innovation in relation to products, services, processes, practices, and procedures.To succeed in this role you will have:Advanced Diploma in ESI Power Systems, Certificate of Technology, and/or degree or diploma in Geospatial Systems.Knowledge of electricity distribution network assets.Detailed knowledge of GIS systems, standards, practices, tools, and processes.Detailed knowledge of CAD Systems and related systems such as Drawing Management Systems.Detailed knowledge around current Drafting standards, practices, tools, and processes in the utilities or power industry.Demonstrated experience in a similar type of role, particularly around the implementation of GIS systems and user acceptance testing.Your career with us:We have a diversity of teams across our business, all contributing to great customer and community outcomes.
