About the PositionAs the Technical Officer, you will be required to maintain technical resources of the culinary and hospitality training areas at the Alice Springs campus. This involves, but is not limited to, material and supply support for lecturers and students in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, bakery, training bar and restaurant areas. The Technical Officer is expected to initiate and take on tasks to improve the overall performance of the purchasing and stores area and maintain the hygiene and sanitation of the food preparation areas and be responsible for maintaining stock supplies and goods.
About YouTo be successful, you will require:
Demonstrated experience in commercial food purchasing, including stocktaking, stock control and cost control.An ability to interact effectively and work with colleagues, clients and stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and engage in effective and proactive teamwork recognizing the abilities of others and utilizing cooperative approaches.Demonstrated ability to undertake work duties methodically, accurately and efficiently to prioritize work schedules and meet deadlines and work unsupervised.Demonstrated contemporary knowledge of computer software packages such as Microsoft Office.Possess or ability to obtain a current first aid certificate and fire warden training certificate.Desirable competencies• Completion of Certificate III with extensive relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or expertise in a food service industry.• Understanding and exercising the principles of Workplace Health and Safety Environment as well as Equal Opportunity policies and procedures.• Ability to apply diagnostic skills and assessment of the best approach to a given task and exercise judgement on work methods and task sequence within specified timelines and standard practices and procedures.
RemunerationAppointment to this role will be at Professional Level 4. The base salary will be in the range of $67,800 - $72,078 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $79,326 - $84,331 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
