But enough about us, let's talk about you As the Technical Officer you will be responsible for: Providing effective and efficient management support of the City's work management system including assessment, prioritisation, scheduling and development and issuing of work packages and programs for all aspects of the City's civil maintenance and construction works. Establishing and maintaining documented civil maintenance and construction work systems, standards and the implementation of those systems within the City Works team. Assisting with customer requests, work requests and work orders including inspections, prioritisation, triaging and scheduling to ensure efficient action and close out within the service level agreements. Providing effective and efficient management of contractors including specifications, analysis, planning, scheduling and auditing of contracted out works including subcontractors for civil operations. Assisting with the management, coordination, work scheduling and inspection of in-house work teams and related civil maintenance and construction work. Preparing reports on civil maintenance and construction work including issues, trends, faults, failures, asset condition, recommended improvements and performance against daily and periodic work schedules including input to daily work team review meetings. Issuing of permit to work, such as, services, trench support, confirmed space, gas detection, working from heights and hot works. Assisting compilation, review and updating of Activity Standards, Safe Work Procedures, Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) and associated inspection checklists to ensure that clear safety and other work standards are established and delivered. To be successful you will have: Diploma of Civil Engineering / Construction with five (5) years relevant experience in civil maintenance and construction Hold a current unrestricted C class national driver's licence Current White Card Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Workplace, Health and Safety principles as they apply to construction and maintenance activities Experience in contract/contractor management and administration Demonstrated experience and ability to supervise, organise and control resources applicable to civil maintenance and improvement programs and work Demonstrated ability to assist in budget preparations, cost tracking and unit rate consolidation Developed skills and experience in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications Demonstrated experience undertaking Pro-Active QA inspections to determine compliance with appropriate activity standards and service levels Demonstrated ability to apply specialist knowledge and skills to maintenance and construction processes Demonstrated ability in writing and preparation of reports, including the use of MS Office Suite and other software packages High level organisational and time management skills High level judgement, problem-solving, negotiation and consultation skills The finer details This Level 6 full time permanent position attracts a salary range of $90,468 to $97,775 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience and includes Restricted Private Use of a Council Vehicle (contributory).
