With state-of-the-art campuses and facilities, we're preparing students to become global thinkers, leaders and innovators.About the Role The Faculty of Science is currently recruiting for Technical Officer to join the Biosciences discipline and is responsible for organizing and providing technical services support for laboratory practical classes.If successful for this role, you will.• Liaise with Subject Coordinators to design, plan and prepare undergraduate practical classes requiring discipline knowledge and expertise in order to achieve educational objectives• Ensure materials, equipment and specimens are appropriately dismounted and packed after class; and wastes are appropriately removed and disposed (ideally through the engagement of the General Lab team)• Ensure that specialist laboratory equipment is routinely serviced, maintained, calibrated and ready for use• Maintain health and safety complianceWith examples from your previous work experience, please outline, in a separate document, how you meet the following four (4) key selection criteria points below:1.
Knowledge of procedures and specialised equipment relevant to Biosciences.
Experience within the areas of Biotechnology, Immunology and the use of flow cytometers is highly desirable.2.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including ability to respond to changing circumstances and critical situations3.
Ability to apply and contribute to development, maintenance and review of standard operating procedures4.
