All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.The Role:In accordance with conventional practices, methods and standards, the Technical Officer provides support to pathologists and scientists for the efficient operation of the Pathology Department.The Technical Officer ensures prescribed procedures and techniques are applied when performing routine and specialised tests.Under general guidance from laboratory supervisors, Technical Officers perform technical work in one or more sections of the Pathology Department.Details of appointment:Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working up to 61 hours per fortnight, commencing from 27 January 2025.*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Salary: $73,811 to $79,779 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.Benefits available to eligible candidates:Professional development and accelerated pathways.Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – You and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:An associate Diploma from a recognised tertiary institution, or an equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the work.Current Driver's Licence.*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment.
