The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels, and within more than...In accordance with conventional practices, methods and standards, the Technical Officer provides support to pathologists and scientists for the efficient operation of the Pathology Department.The Technical Officer ensures prescribed procedures and techniques are applied when performing routine and specialised tests.Under general guidance from laboratory supervisors, Technical Officers perform technical work in one or more sections of the Pathology Department. Duties will vary depending on location.Position Features: This is a shift work position requiring staff to work out of hours as rostered. As defined within the Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award : 'Shift Work' means work performed in accordance with a roster and may include day shift, afternoon shift, night shift and Saturdays and Sundays.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.The area:This role is within the Central Specimen Reception Area with Pathology, however, may be required to work in other departments within Pathology.Work with a culturally diverse team that takes pride in providing quality care.Details of AppointmentPermanent full time, shift-worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you are able to join the team*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicantApplicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.Salary: $71,661 to $77,455 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:An associate Diploma from a recognised tertiary institution, or an equivalent qualification, appropriate to the nature of the workCurrent Driver's Licence*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
