Job Title: Technical Lead/Technical Architect (Azure)
Contract: Day rate contract, initial contract through 30th June 2025 with possible extension

Summary: Our client is a QLD Statement Government agency. Their Digital Solutions team supports and maintains a complex range of systems. This suite of systems is a complex legacy set of applications, spanning multiple database management systems and application technology platforms. Our client is looking to add an experienced, professional and personable ICT Technical Lead to their Digital Solutions team. In line with our client's strategic objectives, the aim is to deliver a consistent approach to ICT services encompassing network, identity, cloud, hosting (IaaS, PaaS, Cloud Services), MOE, applications/SaaS, security and a range of management services including ITSM and ICT Service Desk. All the Projects work together with stakeholders to leverage the latest Microsoft technologies (e.g. Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Dataverse and Data Lakes) and establish a modern technology platform.
Key responsibilities Support the Technical Delivery Manager providing technical design and delivery oversight, delivery assistance, taking inputs from architecture, networks, security and other relevant domains to meet the end-to-end technology needs.Provide strong technical leadership in the development and review of technical designs and delivery of end-to-end solutions.Work with the external vendors, service providers and other government agencies, IT architecture, security, network and delivery teams to ensure IT solutions are designed, secured, delivered and supported appropriately, meeting the solution requirements of the department.Provide technical leadership of new and emerging technologies relevant to the workspace.Provide support for users and perform troubleshooting, including root cause analysis of production issues and documenting resolutions.Build and nurture strong relationships to facilitate effective communication and stakeholder involvement to support requirements gathering, clarifying objectives and managing expectations to guarantee the successful implementation of recommended solutions.Main requirements Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with windows server and cloud services and technologies (Azure/OCI) including DevOps/pipelines.Azure Infrastructure Management: Design, work with operational teams to deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure components, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage, and Azure Entra ID.Resource Provisioning: Create and manage Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Azure Resource Manager templates, Azure DevOps, Terraform, or ARM templates.Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring solutions and perform regular optimization of Azure resources to ensure cost-efficiency and high availability.Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and compliance policies in Azure, including identity and access management, network security, and data encryption.Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to streamline Azure provisioning and management tasks.Backup and Disaster Recovery: Set up and manage Azure-based backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity.Scaling and Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and make recommendations for scaling resources as needed to meet performance requirements.Validating and testing: Qualifying technical delivery of components and service.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve Azure-related technical issues, including infrastructure, network, and application problems.Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and security experts, to ensure Azure services meet business needs.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of Azure infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices.Provide guidance to project stakeholders to facilitate informed business decisions that improve business processes and meet changing business needs.Proven high level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a complex program/project environment.Why apply with Hudson Recruitment?
