Our team
The Digital Science Platforms Section within the Enterprise Data and Digital branch is responsible for mission critical cloud and geospatial capabilities that enable Geoscience Australia to create, process and deliver digital science data.
The role
The Cloud Platforms Technical Lead role is responsible for the design, delivery and management of high-value, secure and easy to use cloud platforms and services to support scientific and corporate needs.
In this role you will:
Be responsible for the cloud-based technical infrastructure of the agency, including our primary platforms (AWS and Azure), and productivity suite (JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc...) Oversee the maintenance and technical support for enterprise spatial platforms infrastructure. Establish and monitor compliance against standards, policies, processes, practices, reference architectures. Design, implement and govern standard environment and account/service images, configurations, and components. Lead the technical deliverables of the team. Establish, document, and lead the development practices of the team. Articulate enterprise, domain and solution architecture artefacts. Establish, maintain and govern enterprise repositories of cloud artefacts. Work closely with cyber security and other stakeholders to ensure our cloud platforms are secure. To be successful in the role you will:

Be accountable in your responsibilities towards sustainable and secure cloud platforms & services. Have experience leading technical deliverables in a dynamic environment. Effectively lead, monitor and communicate the deliverables of your team. Understand the strategic objectives of the organisation and develop work plans accordingly. Required skills, knowledge, experience and/or qualifications
Required:
Qualifications or equivalent experience with dominant cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). Qualifications or equivalent experience in better practice development, management and governance practices for enterprise cloud environments. Experience with contemporary delivery approaches (Agile, Lean, DevOps) and tools. Experience leading high performing operational teams. Demonstrated ability to work with influence among diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Highly Desirable:
Experience with domain, solution architecture development. Project management skills or experience. To Apply
