Utilise your technical expertise to provide support and advice to Technology Solutions and Data Security. Fixed-term full-time opportunity available until 30 June 2025. The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking two Technical Field Officers to provide a critical role within Technology Solutions and Data Security. The role will be based across Melbourne CBD and Lara locations.
About the Business Unit Technology Solutions and Data Security (TSDS) is delivering the Data and Digital Reform Agenda, which focuses on meeting the department's data and digital needs by providing responsive and sustainable services focused on supporting departmental outcomes.
Technology Services and Data Security explores and employs technology to enable the department's business to function via the use of modern, appropriate platforms, products and services. It supports enterprise-wide platforms and services including critical applications, networks, telecommunication, call centres, hosting, intranet/internet sites; delivers business and corporate funded projects; and oversees the delivery of services provided by technology service providers such as Cenitex.
About the Role The purpose of this role is to act as a technical liaison with key project stakeholders and to provide on-ground project assistance as required. Liaising with customers will include helping to develop their requirements, providing assistance to vendors, generating technical documentation, auditing and deploying hardware.

About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience within a large, complex organisation of installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining end user compute (desktop) computing applications and services, and providing high quality end user support including computers, mobile devices, printers, video conferencing, applications and secure authentication. Experience within a large ICT environment of location-based ICT (field) services practice, leading to successful ICT improvement or transformation creating realised business value. Knowledge and understanding of location-based ICT (field) services best practices, as well as knowledge of new or emerging technologies and their potential value to the organisation. Expertise in working on large projects and/or expertise in ICT delivery/support. A relevant tertiary or post graduate qualification is highly desirable. Valid Victorian Drivers Licence. Appropriate vocational qualifications and certifications, e.g., ITIL, Project Management, Agile, Software, Platforms, Cloud, Service management or Change Management are highly desirable.
