This role will see you become a leader, thereby enhancing your capabilities and the reputation of WSP's Water Treatment team. You will collaborate with talented and diverse professionals working on iconic projects to drive future ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities.
Joining us as a Technical Executive, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary national team and deliver projects in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. You will have the technical knowledge and the passion to lead process engineering design on Water and Wastewater Treatment Projects.
What you'll doYour daily duties will include managing the day-to-day tasks on multiple projects of varying complexity and size and manage the production and review of concise high-quality technical documentation that effectively present complex information and results to technical and non-technical clients.
You will also lead and contribute to the successful delivery of projects, including providing technical input, technical review and sign off (as appropriate), and risk management.

Leading Technical excellence in Water/Wastewater Treatment discipline in WSP businessMentoring less senior to graduate engineersParticipate in company development initiatives.Building WSP Treatment Team brand awareness and active involvement in shaping the industry and events through committees, industry bodies, delivery papers etc.Keeping updated with current water and wastewater technology and providing high technical expertise and innovation in design and procurement of projects.Working collaboratively with clients, project stakeholders, and vendors to identify and deliver innovative project outcomes.Providing technical contribution to proposals and/or pursuits.Applying relevant State and Federal legislation and industry standards relevant to the water industry,About youThis role is strategically important to our future growth and impact.
As the ideal candidate, you possess a can-do attitude able to work well in a team and have a consultative approach in engineering able to work with a range of stakeholders including influencing senior leaders.
You will also have:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Chemical Engineering. MIEAust or IChemE equivalent, CPEng and RPEQ;Experience in the Australian water industry with water utilities focus is essential;Technical skills across a broad range of areas within Water and/or Wastewater Treatment/Process engineering;Proven experience in the process design of water and/or wastewater treatment plant design;Ability to break down complex problems, develop cohesive strategic responses, and then present to stakeholders to come to an agreement on a preferred way forward;Demonstrated experience 'thinking outside the box' and challenging the status quo;Identify strategic risks, situations where these risks may become problematic during project delivery and inform the project team.Interest in the environmental, sustainability and social impacts of our work and ability to take this into account when developing decision making processes.Hands on experience in Mass Balance/Design basis/Equipment Sizing/PFD/P&ID/FDs;Experience in CHAIR and HAZOP and related safety in design practices and processes;Ability to prepare technical reports on medium to large projects and technical review, verification and sign off of projects prepared by others;Experience in the application of modelling software and/or analytics techniques, including Biowin experience;Experience with plant commissioning would be an asset.About WSPWSP is one of the world's leading engineering professional services consulting firms, bringing together approximately 4,500 talented people across 14 offices in Australia.
