As our Technical Executive – Geotechnical, you will enhance your capabilities and the reputation of WSP's renowned national Geotechnical and Tunnels team. Based in our offices in Melbourne, you will be one of our senior leaders in our national geotechnical team, collaborating with a wealth of talented professionals, whilst working on iconic projects. You are already an industry leader who uses their knowledge and passion in the successful delivery and outcomes that benefit both clients and communities.
What you'll doYou will be taking a leading technical role for our VIC Geotechnical team and will be providing strong technical guidance and oversight to projects within the local team. You believe in striving to offer best practice geotechnical consulting services to clients, throughout Victoria and beyond, and relish in opportunities to lead and collaborate on international projects. Your passion and technical expertise will be deployed across a number of diverse projects, and will expose you to a variety of industries, such as transport, ports, mining, renewable energy, property and buildings, and also government sectors to further continue the growth of an already successful and reputable local geotechnical capability.
A snapshot of your day to day will look like (but not be limited to):
Being a passionate and influential leader in Geotechics, proactively maintain effective networks and relevant industry relationships to gain cooperation in meeting business and client outcomes.Embracing and leading our strong HSSE culture, providing safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/eliminating high priority safety hazards.Providing technical advice on complex geotechnical issues to clients and internal staff.Managing key clients developing strategy, technical service offerings and significant business opportunities.Managing and maintaining key client relationships.Building a reputation as Technical Leader/Lead Consultant with leadership of project teams on consulting assignments.Undertaking peer review, expert opinion, and forensic engineering assignments.Developing a profile as a leading consultant within the Australian geotechnical consulting market.About YouYou're likely to be a proven and known leader in Geotechnical, and possess extensive years of proven experience at Principal level as an absolute minimum. Influential and with exceptional people skills, you will also have genuine market and industry presence with your peers. In addition, you are:
A civil engineering or Geotechnical degree, or related degree.Possess Post graduate qualifications in a geotechnical related field.Be a Chartered Professional.A successful track record in leading project teams to success within major projects.A proven track record of promoting innovation in the field of geotechnical engineering to create value for our clients and projects.A strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.Imagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.
