This senior leadership role is a unique opportunity for a strategic leader to shape the future of water services at Sydney Water, driving technical excellence, innovation, and sustainable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities: Define and implement requirements, controls, and outcomes for Design and Construction Standards, ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, and affordable assets while reducing risks and costs.Identify, create, and manage technical specifications, standards, and guidelines for the design and construction of Sydney Water assets.Provide specialist engineering advice across Sydney Water's assets, spanning projects, operations, and maintenance.Resolve challenges by recommending solutions to align stakeholder expectations with organisational goals.Deliver clear and concise recommendations to address technical risks and resolve issues where project and operational expectations diverge.Contribute to the development of data, insights, systems, tools, and models to support engineering outcomes and facilitate knowledge sharing.Provide technical leadership and direction to a small team of process engineers.Qualifications, Experience & Skills: Engineering degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualification recognised under the Washington Accord.Minimum 10 years of professional experience designing and/or specifying requirements for water and wastewater treatment infrastructure.Minimum 5 years of experience at a senior level managing the design and/or requirements specification of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure.Demonstrated experience in planning and managing the engineering aspects of infrastructure projects across a range of asset classes and products.Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse interests.Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify risks and deliver innovative solutions.Please see the position description for the role's full accountabilities.
