This position is a rare opportunity for someone with significant experience and understanding of Terrestrial Ecology to take up this Auckland-based leadership role; leading and growing our firm's ecological services offering and working amongst a national team. Please note that while our office is currently located in Newmarket, we will be relocating to Wynyard Quarter in September. About the Role Expand PDP's offerings in Ecological services through strong relationship management and business development; Provide leadership in developing and implementing the Ecology team's approach to the market and further build and lead a high-calibre team of Environmental Scientists; Manage ecology projects by co-ordinating team members and subcontractors, liaising with regulators, clients, and stakeholders, and controlling budgets and invoicing; Work collaboratively with the wider Water Resources team in all PDP offices around NZ; A key leadership position within the company where you will have influence over the direction of the business and have the potential for shareholding. What You'll Bring Strong knowledge and experience in ecology, wetlands, field investigation procedures and national legislation/regulations; Recognised contributor to the ecology services market; Statistical analysis experience; Degree, preferably a Masters or Post-Graduate level in Ecological Sciences from a well-recognised university; Recognised ecological accreditation (CEnv P) or demonstration of being interested or able to obtain general or specialist accreditation; Strong business development skills including preparation of competitive proposals; Proven leadership skills; a collegiate, team-player attitude; Good technical report writing, data analysis and management skills; Ability to work in multi-disciplinary projects, integrating with scientists, engineers, ecologists, and others; Creative thinking to find innovative and sound solutions for our clients.
