Role Description With a growing pipeline of diverse project work we have a new opportunity for a Principal or Senior level Flora Ecologist to join our Queensland ecology and wider ecology team.

Role Accountabilities Providing technical ecological advice and report deliverables on a range of projects, primarily in QLD and northern NSW, but there are opportunities to work across our national ecology team and internationally. Ground-truthing of Regional Ecosystems and threatened flora surveys, BioCondition and BAM plots, and other aspects of flora assessment and management. Contributing to the leadership and senior support of the national ecology team, especially within Queensland. Involvement in business development and the development of winning proposals. Proactively managing projects or components of projects, quality assurance, and development of client relationships. Qualifications & Experience You are an experienced flora ecologist with a passion for Australia's ecosystems and a desire to contribute to a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
Essential Criteria Tertiary qualifications in ecology or other relevant degree. At least 5 years experience in botanical surveys, preferably in QLD and NSW. Suitably qualified or eligible to be suitably qualified for protected plants surveys in QLD (as per DES requirements in Flora Survey Guidelines – Protected Plants). Knowledge of, and experience in ground-truthing of Regional Ecosystems and BioCondition surveys. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Leadership and collaboration skills. Experience in impact assessment within the QLD and Commonwealth legislative systems. Desirable BAM accreditation and knowledge of NSW legislation and vegetation communities. An ability to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Post graduate degree in relevant area. Why Arcadis?
