The Technical Communicator will lead the creation of high-quality technical documentation and written materials.
This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to consult, analyse, and synthesise information from various sources.
You will support multiple functional areas across Austroads, focusing on developing documentation that informs the implementation of new functions and services tailored to meet the needs of Austroads members and other stakeholders.
Key Role Responsibilities Lead the creation of high-quality technical documentation from inception to completion.
Contribute to implementation projects by developing written materials that meet the needs of Austroads members and stakeholders.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Simplify complex information into accessible written content for diverse audiences.
Synthesise data from multiple sources to produce high-quality outcomes.
Ensure alignment with internal quality systems and maintain consistency across documents.
Collaborate with others to analyse and resolve gaps between business requirements and documentation.
Deliver additional documentation and content management tasks as needed.
Identify opportunities to enhance value for members and the public.
Adhere to Quality Systems processes and procedures relevant to the role.
The ideal candidate will have Tertiary qualifications in technical communication or similar.
Minimum of five years of practical experience, including project and corporate content management.
Exceptional verbal and written English skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Proven experience in technical editing and adherence to corporate templates and style guides.
A forensic approach to accuracy, with the ability to verify content from authoritative sources and identify errors.
Experience facilitating meetings to gather stakeholder requirements and manage operational handovers, preferably at a national or multi-agency level.
Ability to distil complex subjects into plain language materials, presentations, and maintain an organised content library.
Expertise in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; proficiency in Visio is desirable.
Outstanding relationship management, consultation, and negotiation skills, with a collaborative mindset.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information.
Comfortable working independently in dynamic environments with evolving priorities.
A self-starter who demonstrates patience, persistence, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.
