Your new company
Our client is going through an exciting period where the company is transitioning its focus to innovating its products. Their offering has typically been hardware focused, but they have explored and developed automation, applications, and software to interact and integrate with its hardware products. They are looking at taking their product offerings into commercial and home automation, amongst other things. They have also recently gone through an AGILE transformation.
Your new role
Our client is looking for a technically minded Business Analyst / Product Manager to work with and support the activities of the Product Owner and work with teams, Scrum Masters, Developers, Marketing departments, Vendors, and clients, to challenge, manage expectations and work hand in hand with the team. Some of the stakeholder groups, such as developers and testers, are based overseas and have increased in size over the last few months. You will be required to:
Gather Requirements.Create User Stories.Manage Customer Expectations.Have excellent documentation skills.Be able to understand processes and can extract information from people. You will need to be able to converse with developers but ensure you are understanding the customer needs and not the developer's needs. Be able to deliver on the 'WHAT' and not on the 'HOW'.Make sure to hold people to account and that your 'Say:Do' ratio is very good.Understand that part of the transformation is maintaining legacy software, talking about old and new and loading the team with information, ideally in 5 or 6 sprints in advance, to help with planning.Be flexible with your hours. Given the nature of where the stakeholders are based, you will be required to be available for meetings that might be at indifferent times. However, this will go hand in hand with flexible arrangements that can be made with Schneider.What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be able to have proven and demonstrable experience to match the above requirements. In addition to that, you will need to have the below experience and character traits:
5-10 years of experience in the BA space.Worked in an AGILE project environment.Have operated as more of a Technical Business Analyst rather than purely functional.Have an understanding of C++.Desirable if you have worked on a desktop application environment as opposed to just software which will help with vendor challenges.Desirable if you have had experience in an embedded system role (software interacting with hardware and embedded devices).Desirable if you have studied Software and Software Development learning and knowledge.What you'll get in return
Once you have the first couple of months out of the way, you will be able to work 3 days in the office and 2 from home. The office is great with its own canteen, breakout rooms, outdoor bbq areas and a good team culture. You'll also be getting a 12-month engagement which, for an hourly / daily rate contract, is extremely rare. Even better, you'll be delivering and helping innovate products which will steer the business to high levels of success.
