About the teamThe Aurion System team is part of the Shared Services Hub within the Department of Industry, Science and Research (DISR) and delivers a high-quality service to our client agencies for payruns and Aurion system support.
This role will be filled depending on skills and experience.
Functions of the RoleFunctions of the Aurion System Administrator or Technical Trainee may include:
Client PayrunsSystem ReportingManage and maintain system accessSystem maintenanceSystem changes and enhancementsStakeholder engagement and vendor relationship managementChange management and audit complianceDevelopment of in-system automationsBusiness analysis and process improvementsSolution design for automation and standardisation implementationsUndertake testing of enhancements and products and support UAT activitiesTier 2 escalation support for complex issue resolutionOur ideal candidatePersonal characteristics of an Aurion System Administrator or Technical Trainee include:

Contribute and participate in the achievement of team outcomesContribute to improved business processes and service deliveryDevelop and maintain documents and proceduresWork collaboratively with team members, clients and stakeholders to achieve common goalsEstablish clear plans and timeframes for project implementationProvide a high level of customer service to our client agencies and stakeholdersContribute to a collaborative culture within the DivisionMakes effective use of individual and team capabilities and negotiates responsibility for work outcomesContribute to business delivery activities including (but not limited to): BAU, Audit, Reporting, Development operations delivery, Capability and development, Strategy development, Client engagement, experience and communicationsContribute to business planning activities as requiredContribute and participate in developing and implementing the Aurion standardisation work planProvide improved business processes and service delivery through automationDevelop configurable, reusable solutions for our clientsDevelop documentation for solutions provided for our clients, including solutions documentation, scoping documentation, blueprints of in-system automation undertake functional testing of solutions developedProvide reliable, accurate and timely information to senior managementProvide training, mentoring and support to team membersContribute to timely implementation of Aurion-related audit recommendationsEligibilityTo be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
NotesA merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.
The department does currently offer flexible work opportunities for many roles.
This vacancy is Canberra based, although flexible or remote work arrangements may be considered.
