Job DescriptionJob Summary (12 month contract)Responsible for:- Financial reporting and oversight of the administrative aspects of SCOR's technical accounting;- Management of Partners Life NZ business;- The analysis and reporting of cash flows;- The control and maintenance of new and existing reinsurance treaties for the Australia and New Zealand business including Client audits;- Supporting the finance function with the financial close process, preparation of financial statements and general finance administration;- Internal reinsurance control and maintenance;- Funds Withheld control and maintenance.ResponsibilitiesKey duties and responsibilitiesMain Scope Responsibility for technical reporting and oversight of administrative accounting, including:Analysis of technical dataReconciliation and processing of NZ technical accountsOversight of client bordereaux, including monitoring, analysis and capturing data into the SCOR administration and Group reporting systemsInternal reinsurance including Funds WithheldTransfer of processes to new Group system (Helios) and further development as requiredAnalysis of cash flows including:Reconciling the cash flows to bank statements and SQL ServerPreparing technical cash flow forecasts for both group and local purposesResponsibility for capturing and maintaining all new and existing treaties, including:Treaty execution and processing of treaties in OmegaGroup reporting of treaty informationAnalysis of data to ensure bordereaux align with treaty wordingsEnsure compliance and resolve issues with the performance of the treatiesAct as a point-of-contact for all client audits, including:Arranging audits with Clients and preparing appropriate sample dataDriving the audit process with the ClientProviding feedback to the Client on the outcome of the auditSupport in the preparation of management and financial information (where appropriate)RelationshipsSupport the development and management of strong relationships with our clients (including retrocession partners), to jointly optimise the relationship/performanceWork alongside and support the Head of Finance and CFO in the production of key management and financial informationMaintain strong interaction with other team members (valuation team, pricing team, marketing team, claim teams and Singapore Hub) to ensure the smooth operation of the businessQualificationsExperienceEssentialMinimum 2+ years of relevant working experience, ideally in a Financial services businessAbility to understand and analyse financial dataExperience of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, WordDesirableWorking experience in the insurance or reinsurance industryCommercial business sense and experienceExposure to the management of client relationshipsExperience of accounting software (e.g.
SAP)Experience of database systems (e.g.
SQL Server)Personal CompetencesEssentialSelf-starter with initiative, pace, drive and commercial nousGood technical background/numeracy skills in terms of analysis of financial dataExcellent organisational skillsAbility to work as a team playerAbility to act as an external ambassador and advocate for the business in the local market/community e.g.
