We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to provide leadership, technical expertise, and innovation within a dynamic engineering team. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Supervision: Lead and mentor the Mechanical and Structural Engineering team, including recruitment, performance reviews, and workload management. Conduct design reviews and ensure design compliance with Australian Standards and regulations. Manage external design houses and oversee PDM SolidWorks software and vault systems. Mechanical and Structural Engineering: Design and analyse mechanical and structural systems, equipment, and fabricated steel structures for mining and industrial applications. Produce detailed CAD drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, perform FEA calculations, and ensure manufacturing efficiency and cost reduction. Develop SOPs, installation manuals, and safety documentation to support operations. Conduct inspections, test plans, and participate in commissioning activities. Business Development: Collaborate with the management team to identify and develop new business opportunities, clients, and markets. Liaise with clients to deliver exceptional engineering solutions. Project Management and Reporting: Ensure quality control, adherence to timelines, and statutory compliance for projects. Maintain accurate records, cost-to-complete reports, and provide project updates to stakeholders. What We're Looking For: Extensive engineering experience Degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with CPEng status or willingness to achieve it (supported by the company). Expertise in SolidWorks, FEA, PDM Vault, and Space Gass, with strong 3D design skills. Proven experience in the design and manufacture of underground, mining, and construction equipment. Leadership qualities with mentoring experience and a collaborative approach. Desirable Attributes: Fabrication experience and understanding of Australian Standards.
