Tech Platform Partnerships Manager - News CorpThe relationship and value exchange between news organizations and tech platforms such as Google, Apple, Meta, and others is dynamic, multifaceted, and increasingly vital to the future of journalism.
The Tech Platform Partnerships Manager role is part of the Platform Partnerships & Licensing team at News Corp Australia, reporting to the Head of Tech Platform Partnerships, and is a key role tasked with maximizing value from key technology platform partnerships by managing and expanding existing programs internally and externally, while also identifying and cultivating new strategic partnerships.
This commercially focused position requires a candidate with strong skills in strategic analysis, business development, communication, and stakeholder management to drive mutual growth for News Corp Australia and its tech platform partners.
Responsibilities Value, model and support new partnership opportunities: Support News Corp Australia's commercial negotiations with major tech platforms.
Collaborate with global teams on global partnership opportunities through analysis and valuation frameworks.Relationship Management: Manage ongoing existing relationships with platform partners, including preparing and presenting reviews of partnership performance and proactively making recommendations to increase shared value.Business Development: Develop and maintain relationships with the key local players at existing and potential partners by understanding their drivers and the emerging opportunities with a focus on social media and digital video.
Use expertise in digital channels, particularly social media platforms and video as a content medium, to problem solve and create shared value.Implementation of platform agreements: Alongside the Head of Tech Platform Partnerships, ensure seamless implementation of deliverables for existing partnerships.Cross-Functional Collaboration and program delivery: Work closely with publisher, subscription, social/editorial, media, and TDD teams within News Corp to implement and report on partnership deliverables and platform audience and revenue growth opportunities.Who are you? The successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills in:
Commercial partnerships: 5+ years of experience in commercial partnership management, business development and program delivery in a large and complex organisation, providing leadership to others regarding work-related systems, processes, and challenges.Stakeholder Management: Experience in stakeholder (internal) and partner (external) management with a proven track record for maintaining productive, collaborative relationships within a corporate environment.Communication: Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
Keeps others well-informed; conveys information clearly, concisely, and professionally when speaking or writing, particularly through presentation slides and written memorandums.Numeracy and Strategy: An ability to perform analysis and draw insights to inform strategy.Positivity, Pragmatism, and Resilience: This role operates in an ever-changing environment, and an ability to find pathways and shared wins is critical.Problem Solving: Makes sense of complex, high-quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to solve problems.Tech Platform Knowledge: Strong understanding of the major tech platforms such as Google, Meta, Apple, etc., and how they attract audiences and grow revenue; and an understanding of entertainment-focused tech platforms such as TikTok, Snap, and Spotify.News Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
