What is the role?Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Team Member, Honours and Awards within Recognition, Ceremonial & Protocol (RC&P).
Honours & Awards are seeking an innovative and passionate individual to join a team of dedicated members, celebrating and recognising the significant impact of our policing activities in the Australian Capital Territory, nationally and internationally.
As a AFP Team Member you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?This role predominately maintains Honours and Awards, including the provision of AFP internal awards and the facilitation of external awards and higher honours to current and former members.
In this role you will:
Coordinate and process awards recognised through the Australian Honours System, the AFP Internal Awards Framework, international awards and awards from state and territory organisationsMaintain SAP records, excel spreadsheets and award databasesProvide timely and accurate advice to current and former members through the team inbox and hotlinePrepare written briefs and other correspondence when requiredDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersProvide support during the planning and delivery of the Commissioner's Honours List and Foundation Day Honours List award ceremonies, and other events.Develop Band 3 Team Members by fulfilling a guiding, mentoring and advisory roleHave a Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain oneExhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrate high level customer service skillsWork effectively in a small team environment including providing knowledge/skills transfer to other team membersBe flexible and dynamic in response to changing prioritiesSelection CriteriaOrganising your work, making sound decisions and achieving outcomesCommunicating and working effectively with other peopleApplying technical knowledge, expertise and skillsApplicationPlease submit the following documents via our Jobs portal prior to the closing date and time:
