The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for the full time position of Team Leader -Wellbeing and Student Support.
Internally the position holds the title of Team Leader, Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing - Wellbeing and Student Support, due to the core role it plays within the broader Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing team.
This position is based at the Catholic Education Office (CEO) Wollongong.
The initial contract period is for five (5) years.
This will include mid contract reviews, one at the end of the first year, and again in the year before the final contract year, as per CEDoW policies on performance appraisal.
Reporting to the Head of Wellbeing and Student Support, the Team Leader - Wellbeing and Student Support , is a senior leadership position within the Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing Service Area with the specific focus on leading the work of the Wellbeing and Student Support team to build capacity and deliver services and professional expertise to support the system's strategic plan Lighting The Way to bring about improvement of learning outcomes across the diocesan system of Catholic primary schools.
The Team Leader - Wellbeing and Student Support will coordinate the structures and operational processes that enable Education Officers to deliver appropriate support and innovation to drive improvement for students through building the capacity of teachers and school leadership teams.
The Team Leader - Wellbeing and Student Support will have the requisite experience and knowledge in the following areas:  Supporting pastoral care and wellbeing strategies in schools aligned to the relevant policies and frameworks; Overseeing and leading supports and resourcing for Students with Disability through the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data process; Overseeing the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of personalised plans for individual student learning and wellbeing ; Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with external agencies such as CatholicCare and Aspect; Supporting schools and parents with enrolments and or transitions of students into schools, and other educational settings; and,  Developing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating ongoing personal and professional learning formation and growth experiences for school staff and others.
The Team Leader - Wellbeing and Student Support will work in close collaboration with the Heads of Continuous Catholic School Improvement, Team Leaders - Learning K-12 and other service areas, in particular Catholic Life, Education and Mission (CLEM) and People and Culture (Child Safety and Professional Services), to assist schools at their point of need with supporting students with diverse learning and/or wellbeing needs.
Essential Selection Criteria: A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church Demonstrates a well-articulated Catholic pedagogy and capacity to align to CEDoW programs, frameworks and policies Has highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills with a particular capacity to inspire staff, bring about change and work towards achieving the CEDoW strategic goals Demonstrates an extensive understanding of current and emerging national and state legislation, as well as Diocesan policies and agendas and the application of the strategic intent of Lighting the Way  Has experience within an educational setting with an understanding of supporting students with diverse learning, wellbeing, mental health, behavioural and safety issues  Demonstrates an ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships Demonstrates competent record keeping skills using HP Manager, Compass, Google Drive Competencies including ability to: Interpret medical documentation and student's eligibility for NCCD Well-developed leadership skills to support school leadership teams and staff in change management The following General Capabilities are applicable to the role: Accredited with NESA to teach in NSW  A minimum of 10 years previous teaching experience Middle leader school experience or a demonstrated capacity to lead improvement in learning and wellbeing Tertiary qualifications in one or more of the following: Educational Leadership, Behaviour, Wellbeing/ Pastoral Care, and/or Special Education Evidence of ongoing professional development in Behaviour Wellbeing/ Pastoral Care, and/or Special Education Capacity to use ICT applications with a high degree of competency All CEDoW staff are required to obtain the required level of religious accreditation as outlined in Work Teach and Lead.
This role requires a maintenance and accreditation Level D. Working with Children Clearance This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment at CEDoW.

The CEDoW provides additional, ex-gratia leave during the Christmas/New Year period, as well as additional leave provision in lieu of overtime.
