Our Underwriting Services team sits within Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) and comprises a team of experienced underwriters who process, assess and decision applications from WPB distribution channels.
We are currently seeking an ambitious, career-minded individual to join this growing team in a 12-month Secondment to cover parental leave.
Your main responsibilities will include: Leading and supporting the management of a group of the Mortgage Underwriting team members for credit structuring, decisioning and verification of mortgage loan applications, and unsecured lending applications.Supporting underwriter achievement of target productivity to complement the achievement of SLAs and assist management in achievement of agreed shrinkage levels.When required, processing, verifying and deciding on residential mortgage credit submissions (new business & variations), from the WPB Distribution Network.Supporting Underwriting Service team managers on overall team performance, coaching and training.Providing high quality service to assist WPB Distribution Channels to achieve AOP targets whilst maintaining a focus on risk management and compliance with credit policy.Proactively driving the team to implement efficiency improvements.Collaborating with 2nd Line Risk function to ensure the Quality Assurance and Hindsighting framework is operating effectively.To be successful in this role, you will need: Strong management & leadership experience, with a proven record of improving performance & quality.Expansive experience in underwriting.Proven ability to develop and maintain a close working relationship with WPB businesses to achieve joint business goals.Tertiary qualification or minimum undergraduate in a business-related discipline.Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
