SCHADS 5B (Up to $51.51ph) + super + salary packaging benefits + 17.5% leave loading Full time opportunity based in Townsville QLD About the Suicide Aftercare and Peer Family Support Program As the Team leader you will oversee two programs – Aftercare and Peer Family Support.
These programs are supported by Support Coordinators and Peer Family Support Workers.
Aftercare service is a non-clinical support service focused on providing practical psychosocial support to people experiencing a suicidal crisis or who have attempted suicide up to 3 months.
Peer Family Support Service is a peer-led, community based service consisting of several key components – carer peer connection, practical resources and peer support groups.
About the role As the Team Leader you will mentor and supervise a team of coordinators and peer workers to deliver the services of Aftercare and Peer Family Support programs.
You will build relationships with stakeholders, oversee service governance, and collaborate with Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug and Suicide Prevention groups to ensure seamless support for vulnerable populations.
The role includes managing participant intake, risk management, critical incidents, supervision and ensuring regular service evaluation and reporting to meet objectives.
Using your lived experience , you will work collaboratively with the Peer workers, carers in providing understanding, insight, support and practical guidance that comes through having cared for someone experiencing a suicidal crisis .
