Team Leader Social and Emotional Wellbeing - Aboriginal Identified Skip to content Team Leader Social and Emotional Wellbeing - Aboriginal IdentifiedThis is an Identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People. Aboriginality is a genuine qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination ACT 1977 The Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Team Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating the SEWB Program and staff at nominated locations. The role oversees programs related to Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) use, Mental Health support and supports required by persons utilising the SEWB program. The Team Leader ensures clinical support to patients of the program and oversees the management of the program and its staff. Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation that aims to empower Aboriginal people to take control of their individual, family, and community health and wellbeing needs through our clinical and community programs. Our main services are in Wellington, Dubbo, Moree, Western Sydney, Penrith, Nepean, and Blue Mountains, and we provide outreach services to other towns and communities through our regional programs.Key Responsibilities but not limited to:Mentor and role model the highest standard of work ethics.Lead, manage, and support the SEWB team by adhering to the Model of Care, ensuring the development of an effective team structure that meets the needs of service users and complies with funding obligations.Provide comprehensive leadership, supervision, and HR support to the SEWB team, including rostering, professional development, performance appraisals, case reviews, and other relevant management tasks.Manage competing demands of the organisation, employees, and clients while leading a multi-disciplinary team focused on improving Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) for Aboriginal people.Coordinate the integration of SEWB programs with clinical and community services, ensuring alignment with the SEWB Model of Care and primary healthcare principles.Develop and implement processes for intake, assessment, treatment, case management, and care coordination to deliver patient-centred, culturally safe, and coordinated care.Build strong relationships with key service providers and stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination for service users.Ensure data collection, evaluation, and reporting comply with program and funding requirements, contributing to timely and quality reporting.Represent the SEWB team in community and stakeholder meetings, ensuring the program's voice and goals are well-represented. Experience, Qualifications & Licenses:A demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal culture, identity, and community, with the ability to communicate and work effectively with Aboriginal people and communities.A minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in Registered Nursing (Mental Health), Social Work, Management, or related fields.Strong understanding and experience in delivering mental health, alcohol and other drug services, and psychosocial support programs within community settings.Ability to manage and lead staff in a multidisciplinary team environment, including managing complex casework.Proven experience in management or leadership roles within health-related programs or servicesEffective organisational, time management, and multitasking skills, with a high level of oral and written communication abilities.Knowledge of the issues impacting Aboriginal people and communities, with demonstrated ability to work and engage effectively with local Aboriginal communities.Experience in networking, liaising with government and non-government services, and advocating on behalf of clients within the SEWB portfolio. Current NSW Working with Children Check, Criminal Record Check clearances, Frist Aid, CPR and a valid NSW Driver's Licence.A Certificate of Aboriginality COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster information (or evidence of a valid medicalexemption).Generous not-for-profit salary packagingBecoming an integral part of an enthusiastic and diligent NFP Organisation Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
