Competitive Salary starting from $216,403 + 14.75%
The opportunity: As a Team Leader Secondary Systems, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the delivery of secondary systems design services at Powerlink.
This involves leading both internal teams and external resources to ensure that all design work is completed efficiently, within budget, and aligned with Powerlink's policies, procedures, and technical standards.
Your leadership will be central to the development and growth of your team.
You will guide team members through regular training, coaching, and performance management, ensuring their skills are continually evolving to meet the demands of Powerlink's secondary systems design standards.
You will also foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork, ensuring that the team works cohesively and effectively to achieve project goals.
Collaboration with other stakeholders, including Principal Engineers and project managers, will be a key part of your role, as you will be responsible for ensuring that design outcomes align with broader strategic and project goals.
Additionally, you will address and resolve complex design challenges, applying your technical expertise to ensure that optimal solutions are implemented across all projects.
The people you'll join: Based in Brisbane, you will join our Design Solutions group within the Delivery and Technical Services division, reporting directly to the Manager Secondary Systems Design and managing a team of 7.
What you'll bring: We are looking for a highly skilled professional with a relevant four-year degree qualification in Electrical Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) in an applicable field.
You should have significant experience in leading design teams, preferably in the electricity transmission sector, and the ability to manage both internal and outsourced design resources.
Strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a proven ability to ensure that design standards are consistently met are essential for success in this role.
Desirable skills include experience in managing commercial contracts, technical specifications, and tenders, as well as knowledge of the AS4000 and AS4902 suite of standard contract conditions.
Familiarity with relevant Australian and international standards and legislation, including the Electricity Act and Workplace Health & Safety Act, will be advantageous.
