As the Team Leader for Protective Security Operations & Governance, you will lead the development, management, and delivery of essential protective security functions at Powerlink. Your role is pivotal in safeguarding Powerlink's critical electricity transmission network, infrastructure, assets, personnel, and operations.
You will provide operational leadership to the team responsible for protective security operations, physical security compliance, and the design and implementation of physical security measures for network infrastructure projects and dedicated security enhancements.
Specifically, you will: Lead and manage the operational protective security activities across Powerlink, ensuring the protection of network infrastructure, assets, personnel, and operations. Oversee the planning and implementation of security measures for field operations, including the management and operational readiness of Powerlink's 24/7 Security Control Room. Coordinate incident management and monitoring activities, ensuring rapid response and resolution of security incidents. Guide the development, design, and construction of physical security measures for new and existing Powerlink infrastructure projects. Ensure compliance with the physical security requirements outlined in the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act and Powerlink's Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program. Develop security plans, policies, procedures, and associated training.
The community you will join
Located in Brisbane, you will be a key member of the Operational Engineering division, directly reporting to the Manager, Protective Security & Authorisations. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding and securing our critical infrastructure.
Your expertise Diploma in Security Risk Management (Cert IV or above) or working towards it, with significant related experience in a critical infrastructure operations environment.
Queensland Security Adviser Licence (to be obtained within 3months) You bring substantial experience in protective security operations, physical security design, and compliance within a critical infrastructure environment and respective legislative obligations, complemented by demonstrated leadership skills.
Your extensive knowledge of enterprise electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control systems, and intrusion detection systems, sets you apart. With a deep understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act, you have consistently delivered projects and operational objectives, managed and mitigated risks, and effectively engaged resources to achieve desired outcomes within budget and timeframes.
Your excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities, combined with your capacity to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team in high-pressure situations, will ensure your success in this role.
