We're not all lawyers, but we work together to support the legal profession and ensure a just society for all.We are currently looking for a full-time, 12-month contract (parental leave backfill) Team Leader to join our Professional Development Team, starting in February 2025.About the roleThe Team Leader will support the operational delivery of educational services to Law Society members, non-members, and legal support staff including CPD seminars, workshops, conferences, online webinars, support staff training, and other events.What you'll be doingIn conjunction with the Head of Professional Development and Legal Education Manager, plan operational requirements for the upcoming education, conference, and CPD year.Oversee all operations and the planning for these activities including spreadsheet task allocation management and diary coordination.Work with Legal Technology Specialist and Learning Designer as needed to deploy changes and new course content.Be responsible for CPD event registration platform operations and training.Compile reporting and evaluation data to help evaluate speakers, facilitators, course contributors on an ongoing basis and provide feedback to the department and to the individuals in a constructive manner.Conference lead for annual flagship learning conferences.Develop the CPD and conference marketing plans, create EDMs, brief marketing, and work closely to ensure smooth delivery.Work with Head of Professional Development to manage relationships, logistics, payments, and invoices with sponsors.Identify external venues as required, manage contracting and relationship management.Point of escalation for all PD team client service issues and questions.Run reports via BI Publisher platform, creating send lists for EDMs.Coordinate the team's general workload and workflow to ensure external/internal customer satisfaction and optimum team effectiveness.Lead, coach, and monitor individual team member's performance.About youStrong organisational and time management skills.Experience in event management and demonstrated knowledge of successful event management.Experience working on and implementing multiple projects under tight deadlines.Experience in delivering online events or learning.Experience in team leadership preferred.Experience in professional services or legal sector preferred.Solutions and ideas focused.Excellent organisation, planning, and time management skills.Excellent attention to detail.Ability to manage competing demands and work to deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Highly developed interpersonal skills, including negotiation, influencing, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a larger team with multiple key stakeholders.Flexible and adaptable to changes in working instructions and project briefs.To applyThe Law Society of New South Wales is committed to building and maintaining a respectful and inclusive workplace, appointing the best person for the role and supporting diversity.Applications should contain a CV and cover letter that outlines your key experience and motivations for this role.
